Reverse Osmosis Pure Water Pre-Treatment Device Installation:1) Pure water should be pumped using easy-to-clean stainless steel pumps.2) The pure water should be circulated through a closed loop system to prevent contamination and ensure proper flow control. Pipe design should be simple with no dead ends or blind spots; pipes must be made of corrosion-resistant materials such as stainless steel or other non-polluting materials that do not release impurities into the water supply. Valves used for pumping pure water should meet hygiene standards and indicate the direction of flow.3) The piping and pumps for transporting pure water must be regularly cleaned and verified before use to ensure they are free from contaminants.
Drug Water Classification & Standards:
(1) Drinking Water (Potable-Water): This is usually supplied by municipal tap-water companies or deep well water known as "original" water whose quality meets national standards GB5749-85《Living Drinking Water Hygiene Standard》.
(2) Purified Water (Purified Water): This is original water purified by distillation methods such as reverse osmosis method or ultrafiltration method which does not contain any additives.
(3) Injection Use (Water for Injection): This is prepared from purified waters using a specially designed distiller where distilled cold condensate passes through membrane filtration resulting in clean drinking grade quality.
Water Quality Standards:
(1) Drinking Waters: Should comply with Chinese National Standard GB5749-85《Living Drinking Water Hygiene Standard》
(2) Purified Waters: Should comply with 《2020 Pharmaceutical Dictionary》's standard
(3) Injection Use Waters: Should comply with 《2020 Chinese Pharmaceutical Dictionary》's standard
The purity of pharmaceutical-grade purified waters can be monitored by measuring their electrical resistivity value in megohms per centimeter at 25 degrees Celsius to determine the concentration of various ions present in the solution; this ensures high-quality pharmaceutical-grade purified waters have an electrical resistivity ≥ 0.5 MΩ.cm/25°C while those intended for injectables require an even higher level of purity ≥ 1 MΩ.cm/25°C
